Background

Hello, welcome to my homepage!

I finished my undergraduate study in China, where I obtained Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering with first class grade. My undergraduate final year research project was “Simulation and design of electrocryptographical lock based on Mentor”, which was awarded excellent undergraduate paper.

Currently, I am working on my M.Sc project, supervised by Prof. M. Inggs and Dr. Y. Parchard and I am affiliated with the Radar and Remote Sensing Group (RRSG) at the University of Cape Town.

Publications and Awards

2008 “Accurate Bit-Error Rate Evaluation for MRC MC-CDMA systems with Imperfect Channel Estimation” IEEE Wicom 2008, Da lian China.

Exact BER Analysis for the Space-time Block coding Systems with Spatial Correlation” WCITD 2008, Pretoria S.A

2007 “Adaptive Radio-Frequency Resource Management for MIMO MC-CDMA on Antenna Selection” IEEE WiCom 2007, ShangHai China.

2004 First prize of National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest

2003 Special award of National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest of Liaoning province

Postgraduate project

My postgraduate work will be focused on evaluating performance of MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) Radar systems. In particular, I will study MIMO PCL (Passive Coherent Location) Radar systems. As we known, MIMO helps in combating destructive effects of fading, as well as improving reliability and transmission rates of a wireless communication system. MIMO Radar, as a new concept Radar system, existed as far back as 2004, which possesses of both advantages from MIMO and PCL systems.

The objectives of my project are to simulate and analyze enhanced detection performance due to the MIMO technique and evaluate increased identification capabilities.

Hobby

Basketball and playing computer games are my favourite. Regarding to computer games, I like playing Starcraft and Warcraft, especially DOTA. Our team won the first prize in the OC competition of Cape Town, October 2008.
